Catholics Not Welcome . . . But Atheists Are

The Democratic National Committee (DNC), on August 24 at their San Francisco meeting, passed a new resolution proclaiming the Democrat Party welcome with open-arms the "religious unaffiliated" (code for atheists, agnostics and non-believers).

While the Republicans embrace people of all faiths and holds the sanctity of life and traditional family values as core beliefs, the new Democrat resolution views deep religious beliefs (religious liberty) as "bigotry" and "hate-speech."

What is even more alarming about the passage of this anti-religious resolution is that of the 18 DNC Executive Committee Members who make up the Democrat Party leadership, nine are either practicing Catholics or grew up Catholic. Half of the DNC policy decision-makers have turned their backs on the core principles and beliefs of their Catholic faith and are embracing the values of secular humanism (same-sex marriage, murder of the unborn and the non-existence of God) as the "right stuff" for a new shift and direction in American culture.

Here is the Democrat Party's new resolution that seeks to court atheists, agnostics and non-believers; you decide for yourself:

DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL COMMITTEE:

Resolution Regarding the Religiously Unaffiliated Demographic

WHEREAS, the religiously unaffiliated demographic has tripled in the last two decades, now representing 25% of the overall American population and 35% of those under the age of 30; and

WHEREAS, religiously unaffiliated Americans overwhelmingly share the Democratic Party's values, with 70% voting for Democrats in 2018, 80% supporting same-sex marriage, and 61% saying immigrants make American society stronger; and

WHEREAS, the religiously unaffiliated demographic represents the largest religious group within the Democratic Party, growing from 19% in 2007 to one in three today; and

WHEREAS, the nonreligious have often been subjected to unfair bias and exclusion in American society, particularly in the areas of politics and policymaking where assumptions of religiosity have long predominated; and

WHEREAS, those most loudly claiming that morals, values, and patriotism must be defined by their particular religious views have used those religious views, with misplaced claims of "religious liberty," to justify public policy that has threatened the civil rights and liberties of many Americans, including but not limited to the LGBT community, women, and ethnic and religious/nonreligious minorities; and

WHEREAS, the Democratic Party is an inclusive organization that recognizes that morals, values, and patriotism are not unique to any particular religion, and are not necessarily reliant on having a religious worldview at all; and

WHEREAS, nonreligious Americans made up 17% of the electorate in 2018 and have the potential to deliver millions more votes for Democrats in 2020 with targeted outreach to further increase turnout of nonreligious voters; and

WHEREAS, a record number of openly nonreligious candidates are running for public office;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL COMMITTEE recognizes:

1. The value, ethical soundness, and importance of the religiously unaffiliated demographic, a group of Americans who contribute in innumerable ways to the arts, sciences, medicine, business, law, the military, their communities, the success of the Party and prosperity of the Nation; and

2. That religiously unaffiliated Americans are a group that, as much as any other, advocates for rational public policy based on sound science and universal humanistic values and should be represented, included, and heard by the Party.

The New DNC Resolution: a Pathway to Total Control

The new Democrats put forth this new anti-religion resolution because they fear religion. Religion is an obstacle in their goal to control all aspects of every American's life. And that's because a belief in God, and core principles like the sanctity of life, is a belief in an authority higher than the State.

And for the new Democrats, the State must be acknowledged as the highest authority.

With religion out of the way, the new Democrats can create policies that control every action, word and even thought. If you step out of line, the State can punish you.

In the former Soviet Union, where the communist party didn't outlaw religion, they instead labeled religious trouble-makers as dissidents and sent them to the gulags. And in Cuba, those who oppose the State end up in political prisons. Step out of line in North Korea, and you just disappear.

Labeling religious folks and good citizens as enemies of the State is happening right now in America; NRA members are called terrorists, Catholics and other Christians are called bigots for believing in traditional marriage, and all Trump supporters are now racists.

The new Democrats know religion teaches and encourages the right to life, the pursuit of happiness, individual freedom and freedom of conscience. All of these beliefs threaten State control over its citizens and therefore religion has become a serious threat that must be put down or destroyed.

The "religious unaffiliated" are the ideal subjects for the new Democrats' drive for total control.
